Lagos Continental Hotel, Victoria Island Lagos was filled to capacity with corporate icons, on Saturday evening, December 12, 2020, as BusinessDay Newspaper organized its high profile Nigeria Business Leadership Awards, in which Indorama Fertilizer & Chemicals Limited (IEFCL) was voted the “Agribusiness Company of the Year”.

A statement signed by the Group Head, Corporate Communications, Indorama Nigeria Group, Dr Jossy Nkwocha, disclosed this to newsmen, in Port Harcourt, last Monday.

Publisher of Business Day Newspaper, Mr. Frank Aigbogun noted that IEFCL was nominated and won because of the following major reasons namely: “First, the company’s track record as one of the largest fertilizer producing company in Nigeria, employing regenerative processes to guarantee compliance with the global best practices for environment, health, and safety standards.

“Second, Indorama Eleme Fertilizer & Chemicals Limited’s values for maintaining integrity and the highest professional standards at a time when stakeholders and regulators are holding boards accountable to stringent governance expectations.

“Finally, Indorama Eleme Fertilizer & Chemicals Limited’s sustained commitment to national agricultural transformation, which guarantees food security in Nigeria through supply of Urea fertilizer to over 20 million farmers across the country”.

Also, in appraising the role of the management in upward growth curve of the company notwithstanding challenging climate of operation, the newspaper acknowledged “the impressive growth trajectory of Indorama Eleme Fertilizer & Chemicals Limited (IEFCL)  under your stewardship,  despite a very tough operating environment”.

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of IEFCL Mr. Munish Jindal and the Managing Director of Indorama-Nigeria, Mr. Manish Mundra, were represented at the event by Mr. Rafiu Afeez of the Lagos office, who received the award plaque and expressed appreciation to Business Day Newspaper for the recognition and award.

Some friends of IEFCL were at the event to share the joy of the moment.
